I am no longer a student! Nor am I a Tinyletter user.
Last summer, I shifted my personal blog to a bilingual newsletter because I wanted the finitude and intimacy of an email list, and because being online scared me. I sent two or three editions before Tinyletter closed down, and I made a Substack account instead. For months I did nothing, and today I’ve chosen to do something.
If you are receiving this as an email, this means you were subscribed to my Tinyletter (love you) and I’ve automatically enrolled you on the Substack. Please unsubscribe if you’re no longer interested. If you are seeing this online, you probably floated in through my social media, and in this case, please subscribe if you want to keep hearing from me! I will rarely cross-post these onto social media in the future.
Substack is convenient but it feels a little more professional and less personal than Tinyletter, which I chose for that you’re-just-writing-to-a-friend vibe. I maintain my intention that I just want to write to people I love and invite letters in return, though I’ve also been thinking about the reasons why this doesn’t work as well as I’d like it to. Anyway, this functions just like Tinyletter - you can respond directly to this email and it’ll reach me. So as always, I write mainly to hear from you.
Coming soon: reflections on graduation, moving to New York, what I’ve been working on. Thanks for being on this ride with me. :D
